Game Guide - Olympics

Your Squad

Earning Points

Olympics Fantasy is a game where you are expected to put a lifetime of training to the test and win a gold medal in every sport.

Just kidding. Relax. Leave the sports to the athletes; you go do your thing: be a rockstar at fantasy games. Create your League of Nations. Earn fantasy points. Win prizes.

Here's all you need to know:

There’ll be one event each day. And prizes to be won every day.
You need to pick a bunch of countries and form your “League of Nations”, each day.
You’ll earn Fantasy Points based on the medals won (and any records set) by your countries on that day.

Also, each event has a few “Circles” and “Free Zone” (which is the free game). And every circle has its entry fee and tons of cool prizes. So the more you play, the more you win.

Creating your squad? Making changes to your squad? Here are three things to keep in mind:

Each country in our roster has been assigned a value between 1 to 6 Slots. You get a total of 16 Slots. And you need to pick a minimum of 7 countries to create your squad.

Please ensure that you create your squads before the mentioned “Lock-in” time. The scheduled start of the first sporting event on a day is considered as the Lock-in time.

You can edit your squad any number of times until the Event is locked. But do remember, in the case of a tie, the squad that was finalised earlier wins, so it’s better to create your squad as soon as possible.

You earn fantasy points (FPs) when a player (or a team) from a country wins a medal or sets a record.

Here’s the points system for Olympics Fantasy:

Medal Points

For every Gold Medal: 100 FPs
For every Silver Medal: 75 FPs
For every Bronze Medal: 50 FPs
NOTE: Medal points are awarded on the day winners are announced and not on the day podium ceremonies are held.

Bonus Points

For every World Record set: 100 FPs
For every Olympic Record set: 50 FPs
For selecting 10 or more countries in your squad: 10 FPs for each country.

NOTE: Points for records are awarded on the day they are set. Records set across all rounds of a sporting event are considered for scoring. A world record set will not be considered as an Olympic record for scoring.

When all events of Olympics 2016 on a day have concluded, we add up all the FPs earned by the countries in your squad.

If your squad has the most FPs, (drum-roll) you are the winner.

If you don’t have the most FPs, (sarangi music) the squad with the most points is the winner.

And yes, for the record, the squad with the 2nd highest number of FPs, comes 2nd. And so on.

In case of ties, the squad that was finalized earlier wins.

All those who have won prizes will receive an email (on their registered email id) with details on further course of action.

A: Most probably, yes. The number of squads you can create will be mentioned in the circle.

Q: Do I have to use up all the 16 slots?

A: Not necessary. But why say no to more countries in your squad?

Q: If I don’t use up the 16 slots, are the unused slots added to the next game?

A: No. Any unused slots for an event cannot be carried over to the next event.

Q: Can I select as many countries as I want to create my squad?

A: Yes. You can select any number of countries provided you have enough slots left.

Q: Can I select any country from the roster?

A: Yes. You can select any country from the roster.

Q: What if a country in my squad does not participate in any sporting event on given day?

A: Unfortunately, no points will be awarded to this country. It is a good practice to know the sporting events and countries participating before selecting your squad.

Q: Can I select a country which isn’t participating in any games on that day?

A: Yes. You can select any country which is part of the roster. But unfortunately, you will miss out on fantasy points.

A: One. For a team sport, medals awarded to each player of a winning team will not be considered for scoring.

Q: What happens when a medal is shared among two or more countries? Do you share the medal points too?

A: No. All countries involved in the tie will get their respective medal points.

Q: Hey, I see that my friend and I, both have the same country in our squad. But he's got an extra 10 points as bonus. How's that?

A: Your friend might have selected 10 or more countries in his squad, so he gets an additional 10 bonus points for each country in his squad.

Q: Can anyone win a prize?

A: Anyone who is an Indian resident above 18 years of age is eligible to win prizes. If it turns out that one of the winners is not eligible for a prize, the prize is forfeited.

Q: Can I win more than one prize?

A: Yes. In fact, you can win multiple prizes in a single event, if you have entered more than one squad.

Q: If I have multiple squads in one event, do all my points add up?

A: Haha, nice try. No. Each squad you enter is considered as a separate entry.
